STEFAN KARTMAN, CELLIST

Performance - Teaching - Listening - Recording

CelloKartman.com strives to educate, provides music and materials,

and inspires the next generation of cellists and cello enthusiasts

with knowledge and artistic inspiration.

Stefan Kartman, cellist

Dr. Kartman teaches and performs in a variety of venues in concert halls and educational institutions throughout the United States, Europe, and East Asia. He has given masterclasses in universities and music conservatories worldwide including the Cleveland Institute of Music, Northwestern University, the D'Albaco Conservatory in Verona, and the China Conservatory in Beijing among many others. His home is the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where he is the Professor of Cello, Chamber Music, and String Pedagogy, and chairs the string area.

Kartman performs on a 1781 Giuseppe Guadagnini cello as cellist of the Florestan Duo, as principal cellist of the Festival City Symphony, and in many chamber music series and festivals.

His formal education includes degrees from Northwestern University (BM), The Juilliard School (MM and AD), and the Mason Gross School of Music (DMA)
